Heaven’s Gate is the midline area between GV20 and Yintang where the shen (spirit) gathers - the shen governs the heart and all the zang fu (organs) in Classical Chinese Medicine - points along this Spiritual line include GV20, GV24 and Yintang.

The three points on the line:

  • Yintang (EX-HN3) — the "Hall of Impression," at the glabella, midpoint between the eyebrows. Classically calms Shen (spirit/mind), clears the head, and is widely regarded in meditation traditions as the seat of intention and inner vision — the body's "third eye."

  • GV24 (Shenting) — "Spirit's Courtyard" or "Spirit's Hall," at the front hairline on the Governing Vessel (Du Mai). Its name alone tells you its function: it's traditionally seen as the gateway through which Shen enters and resides in the head — the threshold between outer awareness and inner spirit.

  • GV20 (Baihui) — "Hundred 100 Meetings," at the vertex, where all the yang channels are said to converge. It's the highest point on the body, used to raise sinking yang qi, and is widely regarded as the point of connection between the human body and Heaven (Tian) — the crown through which higher consciousness or heavenly qi is said to communicate with the body.

this sagittal line — from Yintang, up through Shenting, to Baihui — traces a corridor along the Governing Vessel from the seat of intention/inner vision to the crown's connection with Heaven. In internal alchemy and qigong terms, this fits the broader idea of Tian Ren He Yi (天人合一, "unity of Heaven and humanity")

it's the pathway along which Shen is said to rise toward Heaven in meditation, or through which heavenly/higher qi is said to descend into the practitioner. "Heaven's Gate" as a name fits that function well — Baihui as the actual "gate" opening upward, with Yintang and Shenting forming the approach to it.
